Over the past few days, first looks at the Monster Hunter live-action movie have been showing up on the internet, via the cast and set. This includes peeks shown on action star Milla Jovovich’s Instagram.
Jovovich plays a character named Captain Natalie Artemis and stars alongside T.I. Harris and Ron Perlman. The film is being directed by W.S. Anderson and features a story about a UN military team being transported into the Monster Hunter world, where they make first contact with the Hunters of that world. They then need to work together to close a portal to prevent monsters from crossing over to Earth. The movie began shooting in South Africa in October 2018.
While so far nothing looks Monster Hunter-like, Jovovich teased that we’ll see some of the series’ traditional weapons and gear, as well as some newer tools like Monster Hunter: World’s Slinger.
The Monster Hunter movie is currently in production.
