Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS is approaching release, so it’s nearly time for director Masahiro Sakurai to begin discussing the Wii U version in earnest again. In a post on Miiverse last night, he did just that, revealing a Fire Emblem stage in the game.
The stage you see above is the returning Castle Siege stage, and it will join the Colosseum stage in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.
“Most of the games in the Fire Emblem series have a different unique setting and have fields without much height, so it was hard to narrow down what venues to focus on,” Sakurai wrote. “Castle Siege and Colosseum are two stages that aren’t exclusive to specific games in the franchise.”
While the Wii U version gets Castle Siege, the 3DS version of Super Smash Bros. has an Arena Ferox stage based on Fire Emblem: Awakening.
Super Smash Bros. for 3DS will be available October 3rd. The Wii U version will be released sometime this holiday.
