Going into Round 1 of the A Hero Rises 2022 Gauntlet, some Fire Emblem Heroes players began coordinating to eliminate the two outlier units. Those were Fated Holy Knight Sigurd, a red cavalry unit, and Hegemon Husk Edelgard, a colorless beast unit. This meant in the first round that the Azura Duo unit and Legendary Byleth both needed to win their rounds to make an all green Fire Emblem Hero banner happen. The other units eliminated during this phase were New Year Jotnar Dagr and Youthful Sage Eitri.

Going into round two, there are two match-ups. One pits the Corrin and Elise Duo unit against Thorr. On the other side, the Azura and Leanne Duo face Byleth.
