A manga adaptation of Fire Emblem Engage will start serialization on a monthly basis. The prologue chapter will debut on February 3, 2023 in Saikyo Jump. After that, the first chapter will appear on March 3, 2023. New installments will appear on a monthly schedule.
The manga version of Fire Emblem Engage will use the male protagonist. Kazurou Kyou is the mangaka. Kyou previously worked on Dead-end-Host, Himedoll!!, and Houkago Idol. The first three chapters of the Fire Emblem Engage manga will appear on Weekly Shonen Jump+ for free. Chapters after that will only be available for free for three weeks after their debut.
As a reminder, the basic plot of Fire Emblem Engage follows Alear, who wakes from a thousand-year slumber at a time when the Fell Dragon’s seal started to grow weaker. Coincidentally, the people and the Emblem Heroes sealed the Fell Dragon away a thousand years ago as well. In order to fulfill their mother’s dying wishes, Alear goes on a journey to find the twelve Emblem Rings, which will help to seal the Fell Dragon once more.
You do not need to have any prior Fire Emblem knowledge to understand the manga. However, since the Emblem Heroes in Engage are protagonists from previous Fire Emblem titles, it may be beneficial to have a basic idea of who they are. This goes for the game as well.
The Fire Emblem Engage manga will start serialization in Saikyo Jump on February 3, 2023. Fire Emblem Engage will appear the Nintendo Switch on January 20, 2023.
