Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is less than a week away from releasing for the 3DS, and Nintendo’s Treehouse Log over on Tumblr has been taking a look at the game’s various aspects, including its combat and characters. In their newest post, the Treehouse delves into Echoes’ dungeon-crawling feature.
The first thing to be noted about the dungeons in Echoes is that the enemies are visible and have distinctive movements, meaning you’ll be able to navigate around them fairly easily if you’re looking to avoid conflict while exploring the area. However, battles are necessary if you’re looking to strengthen your party members and the relationships between them. Additionally, instigating a battle with a preemptive strike gives players the upper hand in fights, leaving the enemy with less than their full HP at the start of the battle.
Treasure is also waiting to be discovered in these dungeons, providing players with weapons, as well as food and money. There is even a bit of puzzle-solving required in finding the dungeon’s exit.
