Fire Emblem: Awakening sold more than 180,000 copies in its first month on store shelves in the United States, Nintendo of America revealed in a statement to Siliconera.
Fire Emblem: Awakening, released on February 4th, sold over 117,000 copies at retail and an additional 63,000+ in digital copies. That’s the highest debut for any game in the series in the U.S. thus far.
Nintendo also provided a sales number for a previous game in the series, for the sake of comparison—Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon. This game, released on the Nintendo DS, has sold a little over 250,000 copies to date in U.S. Nintendo point out that Fire Emblem: Awakening sold 70% of that in 28 days.
