It’s time to learn more about the Sakura Wars story! The newest entry in the series will be leaving Japan in April 2020, and Sega has put together a new video setting the stage. While players might be newcomers to it, so is Seijuro Kamiyama, the character we’ll all be following. He’s heading to join a team of established soldiers in Tokyo.
Here’s the introductory Sakura Wars story trailer that welcomes Seijuro, the new head of Tokyo’s Imperial Combat Revue Flower Division, to the team and explaining the purpose of these singers/soldiers. Sumire Kanzaki, a returning character from the original series, explains how she wants him to be the in charge of the Flower Division and goes over what that would entail.
In addition to that, three story screenshots have been released. One has Seijuro taking to his new role and ordering the crew out. Another has him meeting with Sakura, a teammate, outside of the team’s headquarters. The final one shows him happening upon a Ferris wheel in town and hints that maybe it is a place people could visit.
Sakura Wars will come to the PlayStation 4 on April 28, 2020. (It is immediately available in Japan.) Its anime series will begin airing in Japan on April 3, 2020.
