Square Enix first announced that there will be two pieces of paid add-ons for Final Fantasy XVI in September 2023. At the time of this announcement, Square Enix also talked about Windows PC port, as well as an update that already went live in the game. As for the two piece of DLC, they’ll both give more details about the world of Final Fantasy XVI, as well as allow players to experience the mystery and darkness of Clive’s story.

Aside from deepening the lore of the game, the DLC will also have new battles and powerful enemies to defeat. However, there’s not much details beyond that. Square Enix will release more information on the DLC at a later date.

Despite online rumors prior to Final Fantasy XVI’s release, the game was a PS5 exclusive after its Summer 2023 launch. The exclusivity only lasted for six months, and in May 2023, Naoki Yoshida confirmed that Square Enix would start working on the PC port after the PS5 version’s release. Since it’s unclear where they are in the development cycle, it’s difficult to guess when this port will come out.

Final Fantasy XVI is readily available on the PS5.
