The next Final Fantasy XIV expansion has been announced. Shadowbringers will be coming to the MMORPG in early summer 2019. Ahead of that, however, is a new class. People will be able to become a Blue Mage as of Final Fantasy XIV Patch 4.5.
There will be a number of new features present in Final Fantasy XIV Shadowbringers, though only some initial details have been announced ahead of the February 2, 2019 Paris Fan Festival and March 23, 2019 Tokyo Fan Festival. Players will become the Warriors of Darkness in the expansion, as opposed to the Warriors of Light. A New Game+ will be added, so people can replay the original game’s quests. You will be able to use a World Visit System to visit servers on the same data center. Also, the NPC Trust System will let people team up with some NPCs, which might make it easier for solo players to advance on their own. The level cap will even go up from 70 to 80, you can visit the Rak’tika Greatwood and Amh Araeng areas, the Nu Mou will appear, and it seems like the Viera may become a playable race.
Here is the Final Fantasy XIV Shadowbringers teaser trailer.
As for the Blue Mage, it will be a limited job that learns Monster Actions and has a level 50 level cap. More details will appear on November 17, 2018 concerning this job, but it has also received a teaser trailer.
Final Fantasy XIV is immediately available for the PlayStation 4 and PC. Shadowbringers will arrive in early Summer 2019.
