The 69th Sapporo Snow Festival was held earlier this month in Sapporo, Japan, and one of the centerpieces was a giant Final Fantasy XIV snow sculpture (named ‘The Silver Decisive Battle), complete with projection mapping that lit up the sculpture at night.

The creators of the snow statues, who were part of the JSDF, took inspiration heavily from the Encyclopaedia Eorzea during the process, and recreated Nidhogg down to the finest details. The projection mapping shows Nidhogg waking up, and being defeated.
