A FFXIV PS5 version was revealed at the end of a showcase announcing the game’s next expansion pack, Endwalker. An open beta for this version of the title will go live on April 13, 2021. This will come ahead of the expansion pack’s Fall 2021 release.
The open beta will be accessible to new and continuing players. It will also be available through the game’s free trial, which includes the core game and the first expansion pack, Heavensward. Additionally, players who already own the game on PlayStation 4 will be able to upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version for free.
FFXIV on the PS5 will feature multiple improvements over the PS4 version of the game. These improvements include faster load times, support for 4K resolution, and better frame rates.
The full version of Final Fantasy XIV for the PlayStation 5 will be available after the open beta ends. The new expansion, Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker is set to release in Fall 2021. It will feature new story content, dungeons, system changes, and the addition of two new playable jobs. One of these jobs is a healing job called Sage. The other will be a melee DPS, but additional details have yet to be made available.
