In early December 2021, Square Enix asked players to refrain from sharing Endwalker spoilers on social media. The official Japanese Twitter account made the request, whereas The Lodestone detailed what players could and could not share. However, there were no mentioned repercussions towards users if they chose to share spoilers of Endwalker so long as it fell under Square Enix’s Material Usage License.

Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker released for Early Access on December 3, 2021. Players who pre-ordered Endwalker received access to the expansion ahead of its official release on December 7, 2021.
