Speaking with Famitsu, Itakura explained what’s new for Final Fantasy X GREE aside from a huge mashup of characters. The game has a gauge that gradually fills up when you complete quests. When the gauge is full you enter Burst Mode treasures show up everywhere. Kind of sounds like the New Super Mario Bros. 2 concept where it rains coins. The game has small fry enemies you can blitz through by simply pressing buttons. For boss battles, Final Fantasy X GREE uses the traditional ATB battle system.

The game also has wanted enemies to hunt and a player vs. player system. In both of these modes you have eleven cards in your deck to use instead of the five during a boss battle. In addition to character cards, players can also pick up ability cards to enhance skills like changing fire to fira plus equipment cards to increase a character’s HP.
