Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Kadomatsu Display Features Cactuars, Cait Sith

Square Enix has been taking to social media to celebrate the new year with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, with the latest images involving a kadomatsu display with Cait Sith and Cactaurs. It also features knitted ornamental mochi.

Here is the official display. Cait Sith is in the back, and it appears to be the same plush toy Square Enix was selling. The two Cactaur are alongside it and dressed up to look like the kadomatsu. The plush mochi is in front.

This wasn’t the only New Year’s Final Fantasy VII Rebirth image to be shared for 2024 to include both Cactaurs and Cait Sith. On December 31, 2023, Square Enix shared some original art of the party celebrating the new year together. While Tifa, Cloud, and Aerith are at the forefront with Yuffie, Red XIII, Barret, and Marlene standing behind them, both Sephiroth and Cait Sith can be seen on the Cactaur kadomatsu decorations behind them. (Cait Sith is hard to see, but he’s in the clump of flowers on the far right near the right-most Cactaur’s left arm.)

As a reminder, there is also a New Year’s event in the FFVII spin-off Ever Crisis. There is a storyline with Yuffie and special equipment for Cloud and young Sephiroth.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will come to the PS5 on February 29, 2024, with the exclusivity arrangement ending on May 29, 2024. FFVII Remake is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC, and FFVII Ever Crisis is available on the PC and mobile devices.
