Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Isn’t Steam Deck Verified Yet

Square Enix shared an update on the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth PC specs ahead of its January 2025 debut, and it noted that the game isn’t Steam Deck verified yet. However, that is in development. As a reminder, the first game is verified on Valve’s handheld gaming PC.

The announcement regarding if Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is Steam Deck verified came up at the end of the overview going over what people can expect if they pick up the PC version of the JRPG. Square Enix had a header regarding the question. It noted that it isn’t yet, but “the team is working hard to optimize the game.” It also said that, in addition to the Steam page updating when it is, the company will note on social media accounts like Facebook and X when it is.

As for the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth PC specs, they’re divided into minimum, recommended, and ultra requirements to highlight three different levels of performance. So long as your PC or handheld PC gaming device can meet the minimum ones, you’ll be able to go through the game. 

Here are the exact minimum specs Square Enix shared:

  • Graphic setting: 30FPS / 1080p (Graphics quality “low”)
  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1400 / Intel Core 14-8100
  • GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6600 / Intel Arc 1580 / NVIDIA GeForce RRX 2060 (AMD Radeon RX 6600 or later model required / NVIDIA GeForce RTX Series or later model required)
  • Memory: 16GB
  • Storage: 155 GB SSD
  • Notes: GPU Memory of 12GB or greater recommended if a 4K monitor is used. Graphics card supporting ShaderModel 6.6 or a later version & OS supporting DirectX 12 Ultimate required.

These are the recommended system requirements to get Final Fantasy VII Rebirth working on your PC.

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600/ AMD Ryzen 7 3700X / Intel Core i7-8700 / Intel Core i5-10400

  • Notes: GPU Memory 12GB or greater recommended if 4k monitor is used

Finally, here are the “ultra” specs, in case you have a high-end, powerful PC, for optimal performance.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is available on the PS5 and will come to the PC on January 23, 2025. FFVII Remake is on the PS4, PS5, and PC. There’s no release window yet for the third entry in this series.
