Naoki Hamaguchi confirmed that the date event that takes place at the Gold Saucer in the original story will be present in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. He referred to it is one of the most anticipated story events from fans of the original game. As in the original game, the date partner the protagonist Cloud chooses will change depending on the player’s choices.

Hamaguchi offered the following comment about the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Gold Saucer date to Game Spark:

This is one of the most anticipated events for this title… I can’t tell you who you can date, since that would be a spoiler, but I can tell you that dating is not something limited to the opposite sex.

As a reminder, the original game offered Aerith, Barret, Tifa, and Yuffie as date options. Hamaguchi also mentioned that there would be more mechanics in place in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth to make the date itself more exciting than the original.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will release worldwide on February 29, 2024. It will be available on the PS5. There will be at least a three month exclusivity window.
