Update: Square Enix have contacted Siliconera regarding the release date:

We can confirm that the published release date for this title is incorrect.  As discussed at this year’s E3, Final Fantasy VII will be ported to the PlayStation 4 in Winter 2015.  The pricing has already been announced last December to be set at $15.99.”

Original story: This October, Final Fantasy VII is finally headed to PlayStation 4, and no, not the remake, but the PC port that was announced for PS4 last year.

The PlayStation 4 version of Final Fantasy VII will go for $15.99/£12.99/€15.99 once it releases in North America and Europe on October 16, 2015. Square Enix previously mentioned that the PS4 version will also have “system-exclusive” features.

While the actual PS4 remake will at least take a couple more years until release, you can catch up on the latest info on why Square Enix decided to finally do the remake, in our earlier report.
