Square Enix will hold a new Japanese live stream for Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin on December 18, 2021, at 19:00 JST (5 AM ET). The stream will take place on the 34th birthday of the first Final Fantasy title, which Final Fantasy Origin will have a connection with.
Producer Jin Fujiwara, Director Daisuke Inoue, and the Final Fantasy brand manager Yoshinori Kitase will be present in the stream. Tetsuya Nomura will also make an off-screen, voice-only appearance. They will talk more about Final Fantasy Origin‘s appealing points and its connection with the first Final Fantasy.
To mark the anniversary and connection, Square Enix will also air live gameplay footage of the first game, Final Fantasy. This stream will run concurrently with the primary show.
December 18, 1987 is considered the series’ anniversary date, as Final Fantasy came out on the Famicom in Japan on this date. Stranger of Paradise will connect to the first title as it tells the story before the classic game. It will feature characters like Princess Sarah and the royal family of Cornelia.
Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin will be available on the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Epic Games Store on March 18, 2022.
