Square Enix took to the Final Fantasy XIV Lodestone site to offer an update on what Xbox Series X players can expect from FFXIV launch editions, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Perk bonuses, and the Early Purchase rewards at launch. The MMORPG, which previously entered the open beta phase in February 2024, fully launches in March 2024.
First, the company went over how someone can get a copy of the MMORPG to play on their Xbox Series X. If someone has Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, they automatically get access to FFXIV. Starting on March 21, 2024, FFXIV Online Starter Edition with the base game and both Heavensward and Stormblood expansions, will be available to claim. People can take advantage of that offer until April 19, 2024.Â
For those who will be buying or trying a copy of the game, there will be six options. The Online Free Trial will be available at launch and include the base game, Heavensward and Stormblood, and allow someone to reach level 70. For people who want to get started, there will be the Online Starter Edition, the Online Complete Edition (that includes every expansion so far), and the Online Complete Collector’s Edition. If someone gets the Online Starter Edition, then they can later pick up the Endwalker or Endwalker Collector’s Edition with the Shadowbringers and Endwalker expansions.
Finally, there are two FFXIV Early Purchase Bonuses available between launch and April 19, 2024. People get a Menphina Earring, which offers a 30% experience boost when equipped for players under level 80, and a Wind-Up Palom Minion. Here’s a gallery showing both of those.
As a reminder, there is also a contest involving the special Xbox Series X Final Fantasy XIV console that is designed to look like the Aetheryte we see in the MMORPG. People can enter to win it in March 2024.
Final Fantasy XIV is available on the PS4, PS5, and PC. The FFXIV Xbox Series X version will launch on March 21, 2024. Dawntrail will arrive in Summer 2024, with more news on that coming at PAX East 2024.
