People playing Final Fantasy XIV will soon be able to move to different data centers and worlds again. During Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida’s January 13, 2022 announcements, the transfer service came up. On January 26, 2022 JST, the FFXIV home world transfer service will be available again. This will come after the Oceanic data center opens on January 25, 2022.
Yoshida discussed the service and launch. It is happening after the data center opening to ensure that goes well. This service will be available to all FFXIV players. However, there will be some restrictions. While people can move to a different home world after service resumes, congested worlds on data centers will still be off limits.
Also, transfer fees will still be in effect under certain conditions. People heading to the Oceanic data center won’t have to pay the home world transfer fee. People who transfer to another one will still have to pay the normal FFXIV world transfer price. That costs $18. However, if it follows typical protocols, people choosing to leave a world classified as congested for one that isn’t should be able to do so for free.
Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC. The FFXIV home world transfer service will resume starting on January 26, 2022.
