Due to things like congestion as a result of demand and the Endwalker expansion launch, a number of issues came up in Final Fantasy XIV. Now Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida announced a means to help deal with them. He took to the Lodestone to confirm that FFXIV lobby server and world maintenance will be conducted to deal with server error issues. Exact times for both weren’t announced.
The FFXIV world maintenance does have a date, however. Yoshida noted it will be held on December 8, 2021. It will take place sometime in the morning for four hours. Every data center and world will be affected by it.
The FFXIV lobby server maintenance to address any error that happens there will be shorter. Yoshida noted it will take about 30 minutes. People will be able to play while it is being done. However, folks will have to log in before it to play while it is happening. During this maintenance, people won’t be able to log into the game. There’s no time or date for it yet.
Square Enix also implemented other restrictions to help performance due to congestion. Automatic housing demolition is suspended at the moment. You also can’t rename characters.
Final Fantasy XIV and its Endwalker expansion are available for the PS4, PS5, and PC.
