FFXIV Lead Artist Worked on Eternal Strands Designs

Yellow Brick Games and Square Enix announced that Naoki Yoshida’s Creative Studio III worked on designs for some of the free content that will appear in Eternal Strands after launch. Most notably, the two confirmed Yusuke Mogi, the lead artist for FFXIV, designed the things we’ll see in the other game.

This reveal came up alongside the reveal that there would be post-launch updates with free additions for Eternal Strands. A trailer highlighted and brought up some of that. At the 1:25 mark of the video, the Creative Studio III additions come up. While we don’t get a clear look at the Epic Creature designed by Mogi and the armor set isn’t shown, we do see one of the weapons that will be added.

Eternal Strands is an action game following a Weaver named Brynn. She’ll use her strength and magical skills to traverse the world and face gigantic enemies that threaten everyone’s safety. As she does, she’ll also learn more about her world.

This isn’t the only time we’ve heard about FFXIV elements or artists from the MMORPG being involved in other games. When Square Enix and PlatinumGames worked on Babylon’s Fall, we saw some FFXIV emotes and equipment appear there. In that case, it was done to help with the game’s budget.

Eternal Strands will come to the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC on January 28, 2024. Final Fantasy XIV is available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
