The full trailer for Final Fantasy XIV’s fifth expansion Dawntrail released during the FFXIV Fan Fest 2024 Tokyo keynote. The full trailer expands upon the previous version from the past two FFXIV Dawntrail Fan Fest announcements. It shows off some new details, including the first look at the Pictomancer job class. Familiar Scions of the Seventh Dawn member Krile will become a Pictomancer, and the trailer shows her painting with her brush weapon to create a flying creature.

In addition to that, a brand new character is shown as the very end of the trailer. She appears to be a female Hrothgar who is riding the boat alongside the Warrior of Light to the land of Tural. She is the person who will bring and guide the player to the land of Tural for the upcoming competition for the throne’s succession.

No release date was given alongside the full trailer. Instead, it has the same release window of Summer 2024. Producer Naoki Yoshida revealed during the Fan Fest keynote an internal release date exists. However, the team wants to avoid another delay like what happened with Endwalker, so it remains internal for now. However, the team remains dedicated and insistent the expansion will release in the summer.

The Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail expansion will come out for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC later in 2024.
