Square Enix announced that its two programs designed to welcome Final Fantasy XI players back to the game are about to begin again. On August 23, 2024, both the FFXI Return Home to Vana’diel Campaign and general discount sale will return and run until September 2, 2024.
This promotion is available both to PC players and those of us who might have originally had an account on the PS2 or Xbox 360. If someone does fall into the latter group they will only be able to return on Windows PCs. If your character status is canceled as of August 20, 2024, and you also have a Square Enix account connected to PlayOnline and have an active service account for FFXI, then you can take advantage of Return Home to Vana’diel and the discount campaign offerings. Square Enix’s official guidelines page noted that as long as people meet all criteria, you can play for that ten day period for free.
The FFXI discount campaign sale applies to everyone, even those of us who don’t qualify for the free play time offer. Three things are discounted during the promotion. The base game’s Ultimate Collection is 67% off, the Seekers of Adoulin expansion is 50% off, and the price to perform a world transfer is cut in half.
Here is the list of all the discounts in effect until September 2, 2024.
- Final Fantasy XI Ultimate Collection Seekers Edition – $9.99
- Seekers of Adoulin Expansion Pack – $4.99
- World Transfer Service – $9
Square Enix also pointed out the campaigns are running alongside a number of notable events. For example, the August version update and login campaign started on August 13, 2024. The Green Festival and Sunbreeze Festival will both be running while the free play campaign is in effect. The company also reminded people about the Assist Channel that pairs new players with current ones.
Final Fantasy XI is available for the PC, and the Return Home to Vana’diel and FFXI discount campaign sale are in effect until September 2, 2024.
