People who got Final Fantasy VII Remake PS4 via PlayStation Plus will soon get the chance to move on up. Square Enix revealed it will allow people who acquired that version of FFVII Remake to upgrade to the PS5 version. This will be available on December 22, 2021. In addition, the Yuffie Intermission DLC will go on sale the same day.
The FFVII Remake Intergrade PS5 version came up during the February 2021 State of Play, and Square Enix confirmed a free upgrade for PS4 owners. People would have to buy the additional Yuffie DLC, but the base upgrade wouldn’t cost anything. However, not long after the reveal, a stipulation came up. In March 2021, the FFVII Remake PS4 edition appeared as a PlayStation Plus game. Square Enix stated that one couldn’t get the free upgrade.
As for the Yuffie DLC, normally it costs $19.99. That gives you the two chapter story that follows Yuffie and Sonon in Midgar. With the discount, it will be $14.99.
Final Fantasy VII Remake is available for the PS4. FFVII Remake Intergrade is available for the PS5 and PC via Epic Games Store. The option to upgrade to the FFVII Remake PS5 version if you have the PS4 PlayStation Plus version will arrive on December 22, 2021.
