Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Director Naoki Hamaguchi confirmed the FFVII remake demo update will add new content and a performance update. He shared the official announcement on social media, mentioning this is an issue that will be remedied in both the base game and trial.
Here’s Hamaguchi’s statement, which he made when sharing the announcement from Square Enix. The patch for the demo was confirmed both on the English and Japanese accounts.
When playing FFVII Rebirth, there are two modes you can choose between. One prioritizes graphics, while the other focuses on the game’s performance and frame rate. People who were playing through the trial once it released back on February 6, 2024 pointed to visual issues when the Performance option was selected. This announcement confirms that the update appearing on February 21, 2024 that adds a Junon segment to the FFVII Rebirth demo will also improve the visuals in Performance mode.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will come to the PS5 on February 29, 2024. The demo will update with Junon content on February 21, 2024. The PS5 exclusivity arrangement expires on May 29, 2024. FFVII Remake is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC, and FFVII Ever Crisis is available on the PC and mobile devices.
