FFVII Rebirth Gold Saucer Date Guide: Who & How to Romance Characters

The Gold Saucer is one of the most important locations in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, as the amusement park contains minigames and is home to the infamous date scene. Here’s how to pick your date partner for the phenomenal FFVII Rebirth Gold Saucer scene.

All Gold Saucer Date Options and Intimate Scenes in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

Though you visit the Gold Saucer for the first time in Chapter 8, this is only an introductory part with some minigames. It has a light date sequence, which is determined by the person you have the highest relationship with at the time. However, that isn’t the main date. The actual Gold Saucer date happens late into the game in Chapter 12.

Here are all of the possible dates you can go on at the Gold Saucer in Chapter 12. Each one has an intimate version, with the exception of the last option:

• Aerith
• Tifa
• Barret
• Red XIII
• Yuffie
• The Boys (Cid, Vincent, and Cait Sith)

How to pick your Gold Saucer Date Partner in FFVII Rebirth

The key is to raise your relationship bond with the person you want to go on the Gold Saucer date with in FFVII Rebirth. How it works is you have to reach the fourth stage of a teammate’s, where the smiley face is blue if you want to see the Gold Saucer date with them. You can see your relationship with someone at any time by pressing the L1 button. Unfortunately, the game doesn’t initially let you pick your date, so it just goes with the highest bond you have. The fourth stage gives you a normal date with someone.

However, if you want the intimate date version, you’ll need to unlock the strongest bond with a character. This requires you to get to the fifth and final stage with the person. The easiest way to build your bond with a person is to complete side quests associated with them. You also want to, preferably, avoid other side quests for the time being until you beat the game. What you should do is head to each of the six main regions in the game and accept every side quest.

The initial cutscene of each side quest will show you who your partner is for the quest, but you can also check this in the quests tab next to the map in the menus. So, if your goal is to date Tifa, for instance, complete every Tifa odd job in each region and avoid others for now, like Aerith’s and Yuffie’s quests. If you get to Chapter 12 and don’t have a high enough relationship with anyone, you will default to the date with the three guys of Cid, Vincent, and Cait Sith.

Fortunately, it is possible to see all dates without reloading. Beat the game, and you will unlock the chapter selection feature. You can jump back to Chapter 12 and experience another date at any time. Better yet, the game lets you pick who you want to see the date with in the menus this time.
