Perhaps you were too busy farming embers from the 11 Million Download campaign to notice (I know I was!), but Fate/Grand Order has a new event incoming. From Monday, August 31, 2020, until September 13, 2020, FGO will be rerunning its Fate/Accel Zero Order collaboration. The event is a crossover with Fate/Zero, a prequel to the original Fate/Stay Night storyline.
Retitled “Fate/Accel Zero Order Lap_2”, the event will allow newer players to experience the event story anew, or for older players who didn’t complete the original run a second chance to grab the rewards. Those rewards include a playable Servant, the four-star Caster-class Irisviel. Check out a trailer for the original run of the event:
The Fate/Accel Zero Order event’s story involves the Servant Zhuge Liang, or rather, Lord El-Melloi II, the mage possessed by the heroic spirit of Zhuge Liang. El-Melloi II’s true identity is that of Waver Velvet, a mage involved in the Fourth Holy Grail War, the event that forms the basis of Fate/Zero‘s story.
Fate/Zero is a novel penned by author Gen Urobuchi (Psycho-Pass, Puella Magi Madoka Magica). It takes place a decade before the events of Fate/Stay Night, the original story of the Fate franchise. It tells the story of mage Kiritsugu Emiya and his involvement in the Fourth Holy Grail War. As a prequel, Fate/Zero‘s events heavily inform the conditions encountered by Fate/Stay Night protagonist Shirou Emiya.
As for the Fate/Accel Zero Order event itself, players will be fighting complete objective-style missions over the course of the proceedings. Using certain playable Servants like Altria Pendragon, Iskandar, Zhuge Liang, Lancelot (Berserker), and Hassan of the Hundred Personas will net bonus currency that can be traded for loot.
Fans with Saint Quartz to burn can also try their hand at the summoning banner, which will include the limited Servant Iskandar (a 5-Star Rider), and the addition of a 4-Star Saber-class version of Diarmuid Ua Duibhne, who appeared in Fate/Zero (and FGO) as a Lancer. A trial quest for the character will also be available to play, for those who’d rather just try the boy out than roll for him.

Fate/Grand Order is available now on iOS and Android, and the Fate/Accel Zero Order event will run from August 31, 2020 until September 13, 2020. Fans can watch the Fate/Zero anime adaptation on Netflix and Crunchyroll as well.
