Arc System Works and Million have been developing new Kunio-kun games, the series where River City Ransom and Super Dodgeball Brawlers came from. Kunio and Riki are ready to work out on PS3 with Downtown Hot-Blooded March: Let’s Go to the Great Sports Meet, which was originally released for Famicom back in the 90s.

Here’s a look at how Downtown Hot-Blooded March: Let’s Go to the Great Sports Meet evolved for the PS3 remake. Famicom screenshots are on the left and PS3 screenshots are on the right.

Even though this is a PlayStation 3 game, Million stuck with the classic sprites. Most of the modern Kunio-kun games still use the Famicom graphics and two button press to jump, mostly for nostalgia. New features seen in a menu screen is an online mode and "create" which hasn’t been explained yet.

Downtown Hot-Blooded March: Let’s Go to the Great Sports Meet is slated for release this winter in Japan.
