This makes it the second delay for the Fairy Tail game. However, this time it won’t be as long with a bit over a month from its previous June 25, 2020 release date to July 30, 2020. The first delay set the Fairy Tail game’s Japanese release date back from its March 19, 2020 release date to June 25, 2020.

The reason for the first delay was the need to improve its overall quality. More specifically, magic effects, event scene effects, balance adjustments, and more. The report didn’t share the reason for the delay, but it is likely due to the current situation. It’s also worth noting that the new release date is for the Japanese release of the game. If the game does end up being delayed in the West as well, we can expect to hear more from Koei Tecmo in the near future.

Fairy Tail will release for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan on July 30, 2020. The game is currently scheduled to release for the PS4, Switch, and PC via Steam in Europe on June 25, 2020 and in North America on June 26, 2020. Check out the Collector’s Edition for Europe in our previous report.
