Microsoft shared a new Fable trailer and a release window at the 2024 Xbox Games Showcase, four years after it was first announced at the same event. The game will now release in 2025, still on the previously announced PC and Xbox Series X platforms.
The trailer is narrated by Humphry, a retired hero of Fable‘s land of Albion. He mused about the nature of heroes and their defining choices, but more importantly talks of a young adventurer he brought into the guild that he came to fear. The trailer ended with someone announcing that same adventurer’s ominous return. While it is unclear as to whether that adventurer in the trailer is meant to be a player stand-in, the description on the video stated that she “threatens Albion’s very existence” suggesting she will be the antagonist instead.

The new Fable game was originally teased all the way back at the Xbox Games Showcase in July, 2020. Alongside the new trailer, the 2024 Xbox Games Showcase also revealed a release date for the upcoming expansion for Diablo IV, titled Vessel of Hatred.
Fable will release in 2025 for Xbox Series X and PC.
