As previously reported, Sai will be a double-eliminations tournament and was announced last month that it’ll feature Tekken 7 and Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 as its two main titles.

The tournament organizers kept us waiting a couple weeks to learn about its third title, which most of us were expecting it to be Street Fighter V, but in an interesting turn of events it was announced via EVO Japan’s official Twitter account that it’ll be Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.

Registrations are currently up on EVO Japan’s official website. It’s also worth noting that the tweet mentions “(3on3)” next to the Smash Bros. title, but we’ll have more info on its rules and format on a later date.

The 2-day open-tournament Sai will take place on May 20-21, 2017, at the Akihabara UDX, in the same venue as EVO Japan 2018.
