On New Year’s Eve 2019, a video showing off the Final Fantasy VII Remake demo introduction surfaced. This initial clip offered a taste of things to come, showing Aerith on the streets of Midgar before heading to watch Cloud, Barret, Biggs, Jessie, and Wedge as Avalanche began its mission to destroy Mako Reactor 1. However, two new videos have surfaced offering a look not only at the opening movies, but more of the first chapter’s mission.

Only two portions of the three part Final Fantasy VII Remake demo videos are easily accessible online, the first and third ones. The first part begins with the introduction showing Aerith on the streets. It then shows Cloud and the crew as they head to the Mako Reactor. We watch as he distracts Shinra soldiers so the other teammates can slip by. It also offers an example of some of the extra dialogue characters like Biggs, Jessie, and Wedge get.

The second video looks at a later part of that “The Destruction of Mako Reactor 1” chapter. It begins with the boss fight where Cloud and Barret are facing the Scorpion Sentinel. Then, after they defeat it, we watch as the two attempt to get out of the reactor within 30 minutes. This video shows what it can be like fighting as Cloud or Barret, particularly during the escape segment. It ends with the reactor exploding.

Final Fantasy VII Remake will be released for PlayStation 4 on March 3, 2020. It will be a timed exclusive until March 2021.
