As noticed by Twitter account Nintendeal, the Evangelion Tamagotchi pre-orders are now live. Amazon US has all three of the Second Impact toys available to purchase: Mari, Kaworu, and Rei. Each electronic pet will cost $24.99 before tax. The items will release on April 9, 2021.
Nicknamed “Evatchi,” the Evangelion Tamagotchi Second Impact toys are a blast from the past. The Second Impact line features the pilots as electronic pets, differing from the first three items. The first run of toys had Shinji, Asuka, and Rei variants. Eagle-eyed fans will notice the color of each Tamagotchi in the Second Impact line matches its pilot perfectly.
The Evangelion Tamagotchi are a variant of the Tamagotchi Nano toys. Players will feed and take care of their electronic pets–though in this case, that would be the Eva pilots. As with other pets, the pilots can get sick and sad, so players will need to be attentive to their pet’s needs. Though the listings on Amazon are for the Japanese version, there is typically very little to no text in Tamagotchi games. Fans can order these without the worry of a language barrier.
Priced at $24.99 each, the Second Impact line of Evangelion Tamagotchi will release on April 9, 2021.
