Evangelion Rei Ayanami Flare Figure Returns After 17 Years

A new version of the Rei Ayanami Flare figure from Evangelion will appear for the first time in 17 years. The new figure costs 22,880 yen (or approximately $160.43) and will go on sale at the official Evangelion online store on September 26, 2024 .

The figure is scheduled to release in Japan sometime in August 2025. The rerelease of the figure by Flare will be a collaboration between illustrator Shunya Yamashita and sculptor Mitsumasa Yoshizawa. The duo worked together for the figure after designing the illustration and original garage kit back in 2007.

The figure depicts Rei Ayanami in a revealing dress version of her plugsuit. Her right eye is covered in bandages, just as it is during certain points in the anime. She is striking a dynamic pose, with both her arms raised and her hands crossed above her head.

As a reminder, Sen-Ti-Nel announced a new Evangelion figure of the Eva Unit-01 that turns the mech into a warrior clad in samurai armor. Pre-orders for the figure closed back on September 17, 2024.

The new Evangelion figure of Rei Ayanami by Flare costs 22,880 yen (~$160.43) and will release in Japan on August 2025. The figure will go on sale from September 26, 2024.
