A majority of the Evangelion-themed merchandise released in recent years has been based on the Rebuild of Evangelion movie series, with an additional focus on the final movie Thrice Upon A Time. This action figure will be particularly modeled after the unit that appeared in Evangelion Anima.

The novel series derived from the original 1995 Neon Genesis Evangelion anime show ran in Dengeki Hobby Magazine from 2008 to 2013. Seven Seas Entertainment had also published the novels in English with the title Neon Genesis Evangelion: Anima.

The pre-order window for the Mortal Mind action figure of the Evangelion Final Model from the Evangelion Anima novels will open on Friday, April 5, 2024.
