Etrian Odyssey Untold II: The Knight of Fafnir is an upcoming remake of the 2008 Nintendo DS game, with an additional story mode. Programmer Yoshihiro Komori recently wrote on the game’s official blog about the latest updates on the game.

The above is a look at various status shown on the bottom screen, where you can see things like strengths and weaknesses, along with various other tidbits such as elemental attributes and monster details.

The second video shows a little look at the mapping interface, along with how it looks like to save. In the developer’s blog, they mention that Etrian Odyssey Untold II will have much faster save writing and loading speeds.

As far as the mapping parts go, Atlus were able to make small improvements thanks to what they learned from developing Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth. One example being the treasure icon on the map, which now changes after accessing it.

Another feature that was added thanks to Persona Q is the confirmation window that appears when making a command in battle. This option can be switched off and on as well.

Komori ended the blog post by mentioning that they’re currently still working on different ways to improve on the overall quality of the game, so fans will get to have the most comfortable experience once they get to try it out.

Etrian Odyssey Untold II: The Knight of Fafnir will release in Japan on November 27, 2014 for Nintendo 3DS.
