Nothing says Rappy slayer like… a pizza slicer? In Japan, Sega teamed up with Pizza Hut to create a pizza slicer weapon and a pizza box shield that opens when you block for Phantasy Star Portable 2. We confirmed with Sega that these two items will be in the North American version of Phantasy Star Portable 2. Sega re-made these “cheesy” items (probably without Pizza Hut’s logo) so they could be used in the Western release.
That’s not all. The Fate/Stay, Evangelion plug suits, and Hatsune Miku outfit are in the English-localized version of Phantasy Star Portable 2 as well. Valkyria Chronicles fans can decorate their room with an Edelweiss figurine.
Last month, Sega said the Longinus spear and Hatsune Miku’s leek are also in Phantasy Star Portable 2. The Young Jump idols didn’t make the cut, but the US version has more fitting Phantasy Star fan art. Sega community manager Aaron Webber shared a photo of what the posters look like in-game.
Phantasy Star Portable 2 comes out in North America tomorrow. Check back then for our interview with Satoshi Sakai, the game’s producer.
