Arte Piazza are best known for their work the Dragon Quest series, but they also make their own games. Accel Knights 2: Full Throttle is a sequel to the DSiWare title featuring magic knights on motorcycles. The official website shares more.
Accel Knights 2 takes place in a different world, full of magic, kings, and knights. Those who can control magic become kings and start their kingdoms. Meanwhile, with wars going on amongst the kingdoms, the knights were born to protect the kings.
Since then, these knights have become a necessary force to fight against magic.
In Accel Knights 2, you play as the protagonist named Halt, who’ll take on various other knights as you advance through the story. There’s also a competitive versus mode, where you’ll get to use other knights.
These battles can be played through both local and online multiplayer, to fight against other knights from distant lands.
There’s even a challenge mode for those of you who want to try something a little more difficult. In this mode, you’ll set various handicaps while taking on tough foes. Special equipment are rewarded upon winning the challenge.
The above is a look at some of the mecha “horse” bikes, the Hound VX Yaksha and the Red Fang Mk 2. To give you a better idea on how the battles work, check out this trailer for the game:
As you can see in the video, there seems to be some sort of mashing feature with the A, B, and X buttons for the first battle, followed by another one that requires timing the A button along a meter.
Accel Knights 2: Full Throttle will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS on July 30, 2014 in Japan. Siliconera reached out to ArtePiazza for comment on whether the game will be made available in the West, to which they replied: “We’ve not announced it for outside of Japan yet. We’d like to concentrate on the launch for Japan first and see how the game is received before committing to US/Europe.”
