Earlier this year, we revealed leaked script pages from an upcoming Electronic Arts game, titled Syndicate, based on the realtime strategy game developed by Bullfrog in 1993. Developed by Starbreeze Studios, who created The Chronicles of Riddick and The Darkness, the new Syndicate is a sci-fi first-person shooter set in the year 2069.

Syndicate’s world is a place without government regulation where many syndicates are fighting for control of their local market place. Three mega-corporations — Eurocorp, Cayman Global, and Aspari — are the major players in the business war and are at arms with each other for control of the American market.

Similar to most cyberpunk-esque games, Syndicate’s setting is one where people are cyberized with communication chips implanted in their heads and so on. The game’s protagonist is Miles Kilo, a prototype agent created by Eurocorp. The game is being developed under the EA Partners program, which brought about the release of games like Shadows of the Damned and Crysis.

Syndicate will be released in early 2012 for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Aside from its main campaign, it will also feature a 4-player co-op mode with missions based on the original Syndicate. To get a feel for what the game’s like, you can read through some of the leaked chunks of its script.
