D3 Publisher often creates cheeky marketing stunts. While you won’t see any strawberries here, this trailer for Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair is made to look like a nightly news show.
The PlayStation 4 title is an expanded version of Earth Defense Force 2025 with revised levels, new bug variants, a spider tank to drive, and over 700 weapons to collect.
Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair comes out on April 2 in Japan. A North American release has not been announced, but Onechanbara Z2 is coming over care of Xseed. Perhaps they’ll pick this game up if D3 Publisher decides not to localize it.
