DVD playing Wii postponed

Remember the whole hoopla about a Wii that doubles as a DVD player? No, because you already have multiple devices that play DVDs? Fair enough. Well… if you were waiting for the Wii DVD player hybrid it’s not coming out this year. Nintendo is holding the revised model back because licensing fees would jack up the price. They also want to focus on having an ample supply of regular Wiis for the world and a second model would cut into the steady stream of consoles. With all the hardware revisions/bundles coming from Microsoft and Sony it’s probably comforting for retail employees to know there is just a single Wii to worry about.
