Dungeon Defenders Awakened is a strategy game with some action elements. As is common with games in this genre, you place towers along the routes enemies will follow in each map to ideally defeat them. However, each person playing also controls a Defender. Up to four people can play and the Defenders each have their own abilities to help attack and push back enemies.

There are Campaign, Pure Strategy, Mix Mode, and Survival options this time around. Pure Strategy removes the Defenders so you can only use towers. Mix Mode alters every stage.

Chromatic Games confirmed the Xbox One and Series X versions of the game will also have new features that customize characters and games. You can select Rifted maps. These will add enemies that are more powerful and offer better loot drops. You can also use Transmog to change how your Defender looks.

Here’s a trailer showing how the Dungeon Defenders Awakened Xbox One and Xbox Series X versions will look.

Dungeon Defenders Awakened Xbox One and Xbox Series X versions will appear on March 17, 2021 for $29.99. It is immediately available for PCs via Steam. It will also come to the PS4 and Switch in 2021.
