CHUDCHUD Industries has announced that Temple of Yog comes out on the Wii U eShop on December 16th for $5.99.

It’s a dungeon crawler that makes use of the Wii U’s dual-screen set-up to provide an experience unique to the console. The TV displays a Light World but you can switch to a Dark World at any time that is displayed on the Wii U GamePad.

The game itself is described as a “twin stick retro roguelike RPG” that has you entering the titular temple as a willing sacrifice. You fight through the procedural dungeons towards an inevitable death that will reward the village you came from with prestige. This is used to upgrade the four playable classes.

Eventually, you should be able to defeat the guardians of each realm, and steadily advance the village from a primitive culture to a futuristic acropolis.
