Today marks the launch of the DS Lite in Japan. By 5AM there was already a line in Asobitcity in Akihabara. The line wrapped around the store until 8:10 AM when all of the DS were sold out. At Bic Camera in Ikebukuro it was the same story. People lined up over night and thirty minutes before the DSes went on sale there were over 600 people waiting in line. It looks like Nintendo will have no problem selling the 450,000 units coming out this month. Gamers that missed out on getting a DS Lite today can opt for an original DS. Nintendo plans to have 200,000 more regular Nintendo DS units out by the end of this month.
