While Sega stopped supporting the Dreamcast a decade ago, indie developers kept the system alive. NG:DEV.TEAM made the shooter Last Hope and released Gunlord in 2012. Gunlord is also available for NeoGeo(!) and maybe in the future we’ll see Gunlord on modern consoles.

NG:DEV.TEAM is running an Indiegogo campaign to port Gunlord to Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. You can get a digital copy of the game for €12, which the team plans on completing in March 2014.
Gunlord will be upgraded to 400×240 resolution and have parallax scrolling on Nintendo 3DS. On Wii U, the game will have off-screen play and a retro style scan line effect. Both versions will have rebalanced difficulty, reworked controls, and a map on the bottom of the screen.
