The event will consist of a series of riddles that can be solved by riding one of the Echizen Railway trains while enjoying sightseeing around Fukui City, and piecing together the next step of the adventure alongside the beloved Pokemon Dragonite. The expected duration of the activity is roughly three hours long, and the available hours for the event are between 10am and 6pm JST.

The participation fee is 3,000 yen (or about $18.55) for adults, and 2,400 yen (~$14.84) for children of elementary school age. The price includes a mystery solving kit and a free one-day ticket for the designated Echizen Railway lines. In addition, Echizen Railway will operate a Dragonite train on July 21, 2024 as part of the event. The train will be available to both participants and non-participants. Both the train carts exterior and interior will be decorated with motifs inspired by Dragonite, Dragonair, and Dratini.

As a reminder, Bayonetta character designer Mari Shimazaki recently revealed on her X (formerly Twitter) account that she was the artist behind the design for Fidough, Dachsbun, Miriam and Raifort in the recent Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

The “Mystery Solving with Dragonite in Fukui” Pokemon event will be available between July 21, 2024 and October 31, 2024, and the event will be held around Fukui City, Japan.
