Dragon Quest’s Hearthstone-Style Game Dragon Quest Rivals Launches In Japan In Early November

Dragon Quest is getting a new Hearthstone-style trading card game called Dragon Quest Rivals for smartphone, and Square Enix announced in a live stream that it’ll launch in Japan in early November.

 

During the live stream, Square Enix revealed some new voice talents for characters:

 

  • Pankraz (CV: Tessho Genda)
  • Milly (CV: Rie Tanaka)
  • Pavo (CV: Ryoko Shintani)
  • Hyuza (CV: Nobunaga Shimazaki)
  • Martina (CV: Ami Koshimizu)
  • Camus (CV: Koki Uchiyama)

 

Similar to Hearthstone, the game features its leader characters as well as card characters. In the beta it was only the leader characters that were voiced, but card characters will also be voiced in the full release.

To give you an idea about the leader characters, Square Enix shared a look a few as well as short details on their characteristics. Terry (Warrior) specializes in attacking with weapons and sword skill, Jessica (Mage) is an expert in offensive magic attacks, Alena (Martial Artist) specializes in combos with low-cost cards, Angelo (Priest) provides support with heal and support magic, Torneko (Merchant) powers up allies with item cards, Meena (Fortuneteller) uses fortune cards, and Psaro (Magic Knight) pressures opponents using MP boost.

Dragon Quest Rivals releases in Japan in early November for iOS and Android. A PC version will release on a later date.
