Dragon Quest XI S Switch 2 Version Announced

Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age is back, as a Switch 2 Definitive Edition version announcement appeared during the Square Enix update for the series’ 40th anniversary. It will show up on the console on September 24, 2026. It joins the Switch version of the game. Save data from the Switch version can’t be used with the new one.

As a reminder, this installment followed Luminary as he who is tasked with saving Erdrea from evil alongside his allies. This is an updated version of the game that included things like the 2D mode based on the 3DS release, a photo mode, additional story elements. The difference between it and the original Switch release is optimization modes will be present for graphics and performance.

Following its release, a spin-off starring the party member Erik and his sister Mia appeared. Dragon Quest Treasures involves treasure hunting and befriending monsters as the duo. That appeared on the Switch and PC.  

Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age Definitive Edition will come to the Switch 2 on September 24, 2026. The game is on the Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC worldwide as well. It also showed up on the 3DS in Japan.
