The iconic teapot modeled after the Dragon Quest Slime monster has made its return in Japanese stores. Realize, Inc. has put this Square Enix teapot on its own Charadepa web store. [Thanks, Famitsu!]
The teapot is available at a tax-inclusive price of 2,750 yen (~$26). Pre-orders of the item are available until February 14, 2021. As of this writing, however, the webpage indicated that only a few items are still remaining in the store. Those who have made the order here can expect to receive the teapot in April 2021.
The teapot originally appeared in 2019 in a brown color as a collaboration product between Square Enix and Ito En. The original product is still available on eBay as of this writing. Square Enix later released another version of the teapot with the iconic blue color and red smile of the Dragon Quest Slime on its own e-Store. However, the initial stock for this teapot ran out instantly on the same day its page went live on April 7, 2020.
The latest console game in the series to date is Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition, available immediately on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Square Enix has also recently released the localization of the mobile game Dragon Quest Tact for the English-speaking world.
